Galvanized steel panels

Galvanized steel panels is a type of steel that is coated with a zinc layer on the surface of the steel sheet through a specific process to prevent corrosion and extend its service life. The common anti rust treatment methods mainly include the following:

1. Oil coating treatment

Oil coating treatment is to form a layer of oil film on the surface of galvanized steel panels to isolate air and moisture and prevent electrochemical corrosion. This treatment method is simple and effective, not only can it prevent rust, but it can also prevent the surface of galvanized steel panels from scratching each other during transportation. The commonly used oiling devices include contact roller oilers, non-contact brush roller oilers, and electrostatic oilers.

2. Passivation treatment

Passivation treatment is a chemical reaction that changes the metal surface from an activated state to a passivated state, thereby slowing down the dissolution rate of the metal and achieving the purpose of protecting the galvanized layer. Passivation treatment is divided into two types: chromium containing passivation and chromium free passivation:

Chromium containing passivation: Using strong oxidizing hexavalent chromium ions that are prone to generating passivation films, a conversion film of chromium containing oxides and hydrates is formed on the metal surface. However, due to the environmental pollution caused by hexavalent chromium ions, their use is restricted by environmental policies.

Chromium free passivation: Compared to chromium containing passivators, chromium free passivators are greener and more environmentally friendly. After years of market testing and technological improvement, they can meet customers' needs for product corrosion resistance, appearance, and process adaptation. Therefore, chromium free passivators have gradually become the mainstream products for galvanizing passivation.

3. Increase the thickness and quality of the galvanized layer

The thickness and quality of the galvanized layer directly affect its corrosion resistance. Increasing the thickness of the galvanized layer can improve its weather resistance, thereby protecting the steel from corrosion for a longer period of time.

4. Use anti rust paint or coating

Brushing anti rust paint or coating on the surface of galvanized steel panels can increase its shielding effect and further improve its anti-corrosion performance. Especially high zinc powder content galvanized paint or specialized anti-corrosion coatings can further enhance the rust prevention effect of galvanized sheets.

5. Preprocessing and post maintenance

Before galvanizing, the raw materials should be thoroughly cleaned and surface treated using various methods such as chemical cleaning and mechanical cleaning to ensure that the metal surface is free of dust, grease, and other impurities. Through chemical treatments such as phosphorylation, the adhesion between the coating and the metal substrate can be increased, and the corrosion resistance of galvanized coatings can be improved. Galvanized steel panels should be regularly cleaned during use to remove accumulated dirt and chemicals. Any worn or damaged galvanized layer should be promptly repaired to prevent exposed steel surfaces from being exposed to the environment.

In summary, there are various methods for rust prevention treatment of galvanized steel panels, and the appropriate method should be selected according to the specific usage environment and requirements. Meanwhile, the combination of multiple methods often achieves better rust prevention effects.
